There are some great little tablets coming to market by the end of the year.  Check out this video for the Galaxy Tab by Samsung.

9 Dragons by Michael Connelly

I finished 9 dragons and it was as usual a good book in the Harry Bosh series.  Nice touches at the very end which I did not see coming so that is always a welcome.  I highly recommend it.

Ebook sales

Speaking of ebooks and tablets here's some interesting news.  HaperCollins announced that this quarter they sold more ebooks than hardcovers.  So that info goes along with Amazon saying the same thing.  A new hardback will cost 25-30 bucks even with the discount and new ebooks cost what?  Ten bucks.  Not to hard to figure out why the economics of that one.

New Tablets Coming Soon

I have to tell you that I am very excited about all the new tablets coming to market by the end of the year or early next year.  Toshiba has 2 coming out in Oct.  They both promise to have more than the ipad offers.  One is a 10 inch and the other a 7 inch.

I really, really want a tablet but don't want an ipad.  I am very reluctant to get locked into apple's web.  Once there is hard to get out.  I would much rather wait a few more months and get a more open device.  Besides most of the new tablets will be running android so lots of apps and fun with that with no decline in useability.

9 Dragons

I have started a new book.  It is '9 Dragons' by Michael Connelly and its one of his Harry Bosh detective novels.  I really like the character and have read all in the series.  Connelly has a real pace to his books and is a very good who done it writer.  I highly reccomend his work.

Terminal Freeze

Terminal Freeze is a good book if you like the quasi horror genre which I do.   Its paced really well and the characters are for the most part believeable.  I would reccomend it.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Ok, so here's the thing.  The book is borrrrrrrrrrrrring.  I mean its written real well but come on will something happen already.  I finally bowed out after 400 pages of basically nothing happening.

To think 30 million copies have been sold its an international blockbuster and I don't see it at all.  Oh well, you aren't going to like everything that comes along I guess.

After I gave up on that I started 'Terninal Freeze' by Lincoln Child.  Sounds like it could be another rehash of the 50's syfy classic "The Thing".

I like Lincoln Child as a writer and the book got off to a good start.
